VEIJO RÖNKKÖNEN SCULPTURE PARK 

Veijo Rönkkönen´s story belongs to history. The naturally born Finnish artist and paper mill worker, spent his free-time with constructing sculptures and placed them where he lived. Before Rönkkönen passed away, he managed to produce 500 characters altogether.

The strange park built of the most important pieces of folk art elements of Finland and some of the statues carry human teeth sculpted into the materials. A visitor will be amazed of the variety of statue themes. Two hundred pieces made to represent yoga positions, family aspects, children games and, also, contrasting cultures. 

The sculpture park is located in Parikalla.

Turku Castle launching back to 1820. With over 700 years of history, the castle stands still with its massive dove walls placed by the Aura river and proudly holds some stories for visitors. 

The walls hold the some real fighting scenes from 1365 to the 16th century when the castle was attacked approximately six times. After the Duke family reigned, the castle suffered from fire which made it impossible and shiftless for the royal family. Eventually, the castle turned out as a warehouse.

Millesgarden originally crafted from Carl Milles, who would wanted to surpirse his wife on her 50th of birthday. The wife, Olga Milles, was missing the alpine landmarks from her home town and the magical surroundings of alpine flora. Her husband were willing to shape her dreams and correspond them to reality. The garden involves monumental design features; such as steep stone cliffs, planted terraces, rare flower species, wayside pieta chapels and of course, the fantasy characteristics of Olga´s dream landscapes. 

Nowadays, the fantasy garden extended with a museum and exhibitions to advocate the fantastic fresco paintings and the story behind each. Altogether, 5 terrace gardens takes care of the venue and as a little fun-loving activity for small children, the garden hosts the best sculpture hunting challenges as per requests.

A six years of construction took place in 1890 until 1896 to form an Neo-Byzantine-styled cater place to the cotton mill workers of the manufacturer company. The cathedral was massively home to many historical events across thousands of years, such as the World War II and the meetings of the German Emperor (Wilhelm I and Alexander III). The building constructed with renewal renovations, especially, after World War II, and began to stand under a new name: The Cathedral of Resurrection of Jesus Christ. 

The cathedral´s red bricks are locally brought and the stairways are purchased from Finland, made of granite.

THE HISTORY OF BAUSKA CASTLE, THE BEST OF RIGA

Many did not notice that the castle originally was planned to be blown up by Tsar Peter in 1706, but eventually, the castle remained for 300 years abandoned on the hilltop and fantastic surrender by a great connectivity of two rivers and trade route. 

Originally, the castle was built in 1450 purposefully. It´s defensive walls served to protect the Livonian Order. By endless decades of war, Bauska was always at the front line and stood still, even when the Swedish forces occupied during the Great Northern War.

WORLD`S FAMOUS PHERISTORIC MONUMENT IN THE UK

This megalithic art monument is located at a peaceful pace, approximately 13 km north from Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire. Since 1986, the Stonehenge and its mystical story finely belongs to almost at the top of UNESCO World Heritage´s list. CHURCH OF THE SAVIOR ON SPILLED BLOOD, A UNIQUE CHAPEL OF THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST, SAINT PETERSBURG

Despite it´s attention-seeker outlook and incredibly well designed internal appearance followed by Russian Revival architecture design and composed by thousands of mosaics, the Church of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is a commemorative place of the Tsar´s death. The church was erected on 1st March 1881 when II. Russian anarchists committed a fatal assassination against Tsar Alexander. An exhibition of the Tsar is also commemorated in this chapel by the Yekaterinsky Canal. 

Later on in 1903, the son of Tsar Alexander, III Alexander, constructed the church as per request. The building is a remarkable example of the Russian style, using motifs from Moscow and 19th century Yaroslavl architecture. It is not only for ecclesiastical cult, but also operates as a place of remembrance and cultural center.

THE LIGHT AND DELICATE MARVEL BY VICTOR HUGO, THE STRASBOURG CATHEDRAL

What is Strasbourg so famous for? This French city with a combination of German influence consist of a marvelous Strasbourg Cathedral, which is a great symbol and light delicate in people assigned by Victor Hugo over thousands of years ago. This outstanding Roman monument was built according to the Gothic style. Originally, it was proposed in 1015 and went over several fire attacks. From the 12th century, the building finally took off and it´s constructions began to flourish. 

Numerous historical events took place at this symbolic place. In 1015, Bishop Werner von Habsburg laid the first stone of the new cathedral on the ruins of a Carolingian Basilica. In fact, he turned out to design the church and shape it´s buildings into Romanian style, but due to the wooden materials, soon the church burned down, because of its wooden frames. Thereafter, in 1225, the architecture constructed and followed by the Gothic style. If you ever wondered about the ever-first Christmas tree which has been erected, it was in the Strasbourg Cathedral in 1539. We can also find the world´s largest astronomical clock, which is approximately 18 meters long and able to predict the time of Easter indicating the constellations currently visible, the position of the planets and the exact time and date.

The story behind the garden begins at the 1860s, when Julien de Cervel began planting evergreen boxwoods, which is a special shrub, in the garden. He cut them into such a rounded shapes that the number of bushings in the park exceeds 150,000 today. In this gorgeous picturesque garden, a 6 km long walking path resembled for tourists, interspersed with shrines and cascading waterfalls. However, the garden decorated and complemented by 19th century alley of rosemary and beautiful cypress and the waterfall, which falls deep from the edge of the cliffs offers even a more attractive for romantic sunset walks and the green scenery with wooden huts and swings are meant for small children as a heaven of playground.

The place was found in the middle of the Bronze Age (from 1400 to 700 BC) by Roselet, and the castle was built in the Middle Age in the 11th century. The castle remains abandoned, and it is a great scene settlement and home for movies and cartoons, like Scoby-Doo.

The story leads back to Roman Times, when Bulgarians found this place as a safe guard with it´s 70 meters tall rock verticals. After serving as a conversion, the fortress became a significant pattern to Ivan Sratsimir, the Bulgarian Tsar, in the 14th century with an aim: to strengthen the Bulgarian defense forces and the Tsar´s state.

HAZARA RAMA TEMPLE HAMPI AT THE END OF A NARROW TARRED ROAD AFTER KARNATAKA

This is a royal chapel which was built with simple structures at the beginning of the 15th century by a royal king, Vijayanagara, Devaraya II. The temple is an interesting spiritual pattern of the Bulgarian history. The name of the building, the Hazara Rama, officially means `a thousands of Rama`, which reflects Goddess and God reigning immortal of the temple. The interior of the temple decorated by antique Krishna and Rama sculptures and stone engravings. The relics reflects the story of the outer world, and withholds elements such as horses, elephants, defense forces and dancing people.

THE MEMORIAL TEMPLE OF THE BIRTH OF CHRIST

The Shipka Memorial Church typically reflects the Russian architecture design and architecture type. This Orthodox chapel is built between 1885 and 1902 with a major focus in mind: to commemorate to the victims, soldiers and volunteers of the Russo-Turkish War in 1877. The destroyed pieces are placed in altogether 17 sarcophagi stones in the crypt hall of the church and the names of the Russian regiment and the Bulgarian volunteers scripted on marble slabs.The monument´s exterior fully painted with glorious mural fresco, schematically taken from Bible scenes.

By arriving to Galevac Island after leaving our motorhome behind at the shore of Ugjlan, we can spot the Franciscan Monastery proudly facing towards the waterfront of Preko, which is the largest village of Ugjlan. The Franciscan Monastery of St. Paul of the Hermit serves as a Glagolitic museum which contains 17th to 18th century paintings and books. The most popular sight of the museum is the "Prayer on the Mount Olives".
